Jeannine Jocelyn Clayton

Jeannine Clayton graduated with honours with a B.F.A in Dance and a B.A in History from the University of Buffalo. While attending University, she performed with the Zodiaque Dance Company and fell in love with Concert Dance. She went on to perform professionally for seven years; touring and teaching broadly with Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, The Willingham Project and Thodos Dance Chicago. She has worked with renowned choreographers such as Randy Duncan, Lar Lubovitch and Ann Reinking. She has also had the honour of dancing for Maurice Hines, and perform works by both Mia Michaels and Gus Giordano.

Jeannine has travelled extensively throughout the United States and Canada, teaching master classes, setting choreographic works, and adjudicating for various dance competitions and conventions. She has choreographed in the Young Choreographer’s Showcase, New Dances, and her piece “Enchanted,” is in the repertoire of Thodos Dance Chicago. She has taught at an abundance of dance studios throughout North America, sharing her love and passion for dance with the next generation of artists.

Formerly a Director of EMBRACE – Dance Competition & Convention; a seasoned adjudicator; and dance competitor as a young girl; she can relate full circle to the value and education that comes from Dance Competitions.

Jeannine loves working with the next generation of dancers and has been a competitive dance educator at the Bradford School of Dance for 10+ years. Over this time, witnessing her students’ artistry, passion and dedication for dance has truly been a gift.

Jeannine is also the founder of theBUTco., a sustainable activewear + gear label empowering girls and women to move boldly and beautifully.
